Germany - Bielefeld to Cologne

They call these unusual stone lace supports we see in Cologne Cathedral, flying buttresses. We have seen this particular style of architecture in Prague's St Vitus Cathedral also. They are hollow and look very impressive as they counter the thrust from the roof and from the vaults.
